## Overview

Klaviyo is an email and SMS marketing platform that uses your Shopify orders, products and browsing data to send automated flows and campaigns [1]. New stores get a guided setup with a sign-up form, welcome email and abandoned-checkout flow, and you can add WhatsApp, mobile push and pop-ups from the same customer profile [1].

It connects to more than 350 apps, including Shopify Flow, Recharge and Gorgias [1]. Its AI agent, Composer, builds campaigns and flows, with $5 of usage a month on the free plan [2].

The free plan stops at 250 active profiles and 500 email sends a month [2]. After that, email is priced by active profiles: $20 for up to 500, $70 for 3,000, $375 for 20,000 and $1,380 for 100,000, and Klaviyo moves you up automatically as the list grows [2]. Texts are extra, billed per message from a monthly SMS plan with carrier fees included; unused spend does not roll over [3][4]. Recent low ratings centre on cost: bills that climb with profiles, inactive profiles that are hard to clear, and cancellations some found hard to complete [7].

## Data

Klaviyo's public API includes bulk export jobs for profiles and events, so you can take your data with you [5]. The company says it has annual third-party SOC 2 and ISO 27001 audits and offers the reports in a self-service Trust Center [6]. It also provides consent management and access and deletion request tools for GDPR and CCPA [6]. Its trust page does not say where data is stored [6].
