# Plug in SEO: review and real cost

Scans your store for SEO issues and bulk-fixes titles, meta, ALT text and schema.

Verdict: Read the fine print (4 of 8 checks). Rank 3 of 3 in Images and SEO. Developer: Plug in Useful. Listing: https://apps.shopify.com/plug-in-seo

Store owners who want to learn and fix SEO themselves, including ALT text templates for images, will get the most from it [2]. The catch is the price: there is no free plan, it starts at $29.99 a month, and the page cap pushes a 2,000-product store to $79.99 [1].

## Monthly cost

| Store size | Plan | Per month | Arithmetic |
|---|---|---|---|
| 300 orders | Lite | $29.99 | Lite, $29.99 a month, scans up to 200 pages: 100 products plus up to 100 collection, blog and other pages [1]. |
| 2,000 orders | Standard | $49.99 | 500 product pages pass Lite's 200-page cap, so Standard at $49.99 a month for up to 2,000 pages [1]. |
| 10,000 orders | Premium | $79.99 | 2,000 product pages plus the home page, collections and blog posts pass Standard's 2,000-page cap, so Premium at $79.99 a month with unlimited pages [1]. |

## Overview

Plug in SEO audits your store for SEO problems and walks you through fixing them [1]. It checks product, collection, blog and home pages for missing meta descriptions, broken title templates, missing structured data and slow-loading images, then lets you fix many issues in bulk with templates [2]. For images, it sets ALT text through templates [2].

The app launched in June 2011 and carries the Built for Shopify badge [1]. It also offers AI keyword research, AI-written titles and descriptions, and schema aimed at AI search [1].

## Pricing

There is no free plan. Lite costs $29.99 a month for up to 200 pages, Standard $49.99 for 2,000 pages and Premium $79.99 for unlimited pages [1]. Because the cap counts pages, a store with 100 products fits Lite, 500 products needs Standard and 2,000 products needs Premium [1]. Billing is monthly through Shopify with no long-term contract [2]. A one-time Quick Start Service is optional [2].

## Merchants

The app is rated 4.6 from 675 reviews, with 83% at five stars and 4% at one star [1]. Merchants praise the clear step-by-step guidance, time saved compared with an agency, and hands-on support, including the Quick Start Service [1]. Recent negatives include leftover theme code after uninstalling and a one-word "Terrible" review [1].

## Data

Plug in Useful is owned and operated by Layer One Capital Corp, under Connecticut law [3]. Its privacy policy says it collects contact, shop and usage data, uses TLS encryption and secure storage, and may move data abroad under Standard Contractual Clauses [3]. It names no SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certification and documents no CSV export or API; to have data removed after uninstalling, you email its privacy team [3].
